Common Warning Signs:

Strokes are often called "silent killers" because many times there are no symptoms. Abdominal aortic aneurysms are just as deadly and even harder to detect without preventative screenings. Here are a few of the common warning signs and symptoms for stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease and osteoporosis:

  • Sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arms or legs, particularly on one side of the body
  • Sudden severe headache or pain, with no known cause
  • Dizziness or loss of balance
  • Intense back or abdominal pain
  • Rapid pulse
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Pain during exercise, which is relieved during rest
  • Constant leg pain, tingling, burning or loss of sensation
  • Bone fractures, especially of the hip, spine or wrist
  • Change in posture or height
